Surrounded by his loved ones, Gerald (Jerry) Lee Terpstra passed from this life to his heavenly home on November 21, 2025. Jerry was born October 18, 1954 in Spokane, Washington to William Eugene Terpstra and Verna Jean Alvord Terpstra.

Born into an Air Force family, Jerry spent his childhood moving from place to place, finding adventure along the way. He lived in Washington state, New York, Texas, Florida, Germany, California, North Carolina with his final move bringing him back to Florida. He proudly achieved the highest rank in Boy Scouts and later became a devoted born-again Christian. Jerry had a lifelong love of fishing and found peace in the quiet moments by the water.

Jerry was skilled in many trades and had exceptional work ethic. Over the years he served as an auto mechanic, worked in electronics, public works transportation and later on as a computer technician and CNA. After retiring, he and his wife Wendy, owned and operated a consignment shop in Englewood for six years.

Although Jerry did not have children of his own, his heart was full. When he married Wendy Bush in 2003, he wholeheartedly welcomed her three children into his life. In time, he also embraced their spouses and the nine grandchildren who followed, loving each of them as his own and finding joy in the family they built together.

Jerry is survived by his devoted wife, Wendy Terpstra; his brother, Richard E. Terpstra; and his niece Kaitlyn (Skye) Terpstra. He will forever be loved and missed by his stepchildren: Eric and Silvia and their children-Evan, Gabriel, Noah, Elijah, Daniel and Alleayah; Derek and Samantha Sauline and their children-Hailey and Owen; and Blake and Kacy and their daughter -Blakely.

Jerry's legacy of kindness faith and love will continue to shine through all who were blessed to know him.

By Jerry's request, the family will have a celebration of life on Sunday November 30th.
