Gerald Terrones Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium on Feb. 7, 2024.
Gerald B. Terrones, 81, of Beloit, WI, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024 at Beloit Memorial Hospital.
He was born on January 26, 1943 in Beloit, WI, the son of Jesse and Bernalda (Wessels) Terrones. Jerry met his sweetheart, Janet Heyerdahl, in elementary school. They were married on August 31, 1963 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. They raised their 4 children in Beloit and were married for 52 years, until Janet's passing in 2015.
Jerry was formerly employed by White Sundstrand and Beloit Corporation. In the early 2000's Jerry opened his own small business, Turtle Creek Computers, where he assisted local senior residents with building and maintaining computers. He continued to work part time into his retirement as a crossing guard for the School District of Beloit and took pride in assuring the safety of "his kids".
Jerry enjoyed spending his free time with family, including his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved cheering them on at the many activities they participated in. He liked cooking, especially when hosting family meals on holidays. He was an avid cyclist and enjoyed spending countless hours outdoors being active and also just sitting and bird watching in his own garden-like back yard with friends and family. Over the course of his life, he had a special bond with several family dogs, most recently two adored golden retrievers. His hobbies included woodworking, reading, and doing yoga. Jerry was a lifelong member of the YMCA. From playing handball in the 70s, to racquetball in the 80s, and most recently, spinning, the YMCA was an integral part of his life.
Jerry is survived by his children, Jerry (Linda) Terrones of Appleton, WI, Craig (Kim) Terrones of Seattle, WA, Kristen (Larry) Leinberger of Milwaukee, WI, and Jon (Marcia) Terrones of Cambridge, WI; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Richard (Mary Ann) Terrones and Deborah (Gary) Wallendal; and special friend, Barbara Carter.
Jerry was predeceased in death by his parents and his wife, Janet Terrones.
A private graveside service will be held at East Lawn Cemetery. Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd., Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

Jerry we had 6 wonderful years together. I will always remember our trips out west, our trips to Orange Beach, and up to Green Bay and Door County. All the times you would appear at my door with a bouquet of flowers, all our times sitting in our yards watching the birds, our hikes, all the football and basketball; games we went to, the time spent at Brad, Corey, and Tim's cabins, how much you cared about Jack, Marina, Allie, Penelope, Brad, Corey &Paula, Tim & Sally, and all of my other family and friends, all the fun we had with my family at the sibling night out with Karla & Jeff, Laurie & Dale and Keith. All the times we spent with my friends playing cards. And especially all our times when we were just alone together. For all this and so much more I am deeply grateful. Love, Barb

I have known Jerry for most of my life. I would often see him working as a crossing guard when I was in Beloit. He would buy eggs from me from time to time and we would talk for a while. He was a very good person and family to me. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Terrones family in this time of grief. God Bless you all.

I´m so sorry to hear of Gerry´s passing. He used to do a cycling class Rpm with me that I taught! He was such an athlete and nice man. I will miss him!
