Gerald Triggs Obituary

Gerald F. Triggs
1951 - 2026
East Longmeadow
Gerald F. Triggs passed away on February 3, 2026, following a long and courageous battle with dementia. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Mary Triggs; his brother, Michael Triggs; Michael's children, Patrick and Becky; and his brother, Marty Triggs.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Michelle; his two children, Brian Triggs and Lauren Trombley; and his four cherished grandchildren, Starla, Gunnar, Garrick, and Henri. He is also survived by his sister, Patty Hines. Gerald dedicated over four decades of hard work and loyalty to Western Mass Electric, where he built a career defined by reliability, skill, and pride in a job well done. Gerald was one of the hardest working men around, he could fix just about anything and often did. He was a remarkable artist, and an incredible cook. He loved cars and racing and had a lifelong appreciation for anything built to perform. He also loved the open road, especially when riding his Harley, and had a talent for the legendary Irish goodbye, often slipping out of parties quietly - and well before they were over.
He loved the ocean and spent many summers making memories with his family along the Rhode Island coast, a place that brought him peace and happiness. He will be remembered for his hard work ethic, creativity, and the many ways he showed love through what he did rather than what he said. He will be deeply missed. A celebration of life ceremony in honor of Gerald will be held the convenience of his family. Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation, East Longmeadow has been entrusted with arrangements.

I met and worked with Gerry at the WEMCO power stations and at Northeast Utilities Facilities Department . He always had a smile on his face and a funny story to tell. We had many laughs together. RIP my friend.

When Gerry retired I took over for him in Hadley. I had a picture of him on my bulletin board that said, "my hero". He certainly was. My thoughts and prayers are with your family buddy. See ya on the other side

RIP RIP brother. Gerry was a steadfast and loyal member of IBEW Local 455. He will be remembered for all that he did on behalf of his fellow workers at WMECO.

Michelle and family. So sorry to hear the loss of Gerry or "trigger" as I always called him. I have many memories from our trip to Las Vegas in 1992 to many Cigars on the golf course to a few putts around on the Harley´s. Trigger was a good Man and I will miss him very much. RIP Brother.
