Gerald "Jerry" W. Weakland, 64, of Aurora, passed away Monday, January 5, 2026, at Grand Island Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his family.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, January 12, 2026, at All Faiths Funeral Home, with a gathering of family and friends one hour prior. Dan Naranjo will officiate. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
Jerry was born May 29, 1961, in Grand Island to Norman and Jeannette (Vogel) Weakland. He graduated from Northwest High School in 1979 and attended Central Community College. Jerry spent most of his life in the Grand Island, Phillips, and Aurora areas.
Jerry was a farmer, truck driver, skilled welder, and maintenance worker at the Aurora Hospital. A cowboy at heart, he trained horses, enjoyed hunting with his black labs, watching Husker sports, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his children, Tyler (Carolyn) Weakland, Kelby Weakland, and Kelsey Weakland; siblings, Jim (Kaye) Weakland, John (Janet) Weakland, Julie (Steve) Brooke, and Jennifer (Butch) Evans; granddaughter, Elsie Weakland, and one on the way; along with extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mia; niece, Katie Weakland; and father- and mother-in-law, John "Dutch" and Ann Vredeveld. Condolences may be left at www.giallfaiths.com.
