Jerry was predeceased in death by his wife, Hilde Schmidt Williams. He is survived by his son, Mike Williams (Joan) of Phoenix, MD; his granddaughter Brooke Williams Lafferty (Kevin) of Parkville, MD; and three step grandchildren, Sean Katchmar of Churchville, MD; Colin Katchmar of Flagstaff, AZ; and Caitlin Katchmar of Baltimore, MD.
He was born May 16, 1936 in Jacksonville, FL, the son of James Henry Williams and Evelyn Marie Shaw, the eldest of two sons. Jerry was known for his love of sports. He played baseball at Kentucky Wesleyan College, where he was drafted by the Cleveland Indians. He then went on to serve in the Army, where he met his wife in Germany. He then went on to become a warehouse sales manager. They moved to Atlanta, GA and eventually settled in Summerville, SC; where they lived until his wife passed away five years ago. He spent his final years in Phoenix, MD.
A private memorial service will be held in Summerville, SC.
