Gerald 'Jack' Woods Obituary Gerald J. "Jack" Woods Jr., 83, formerly of Chester, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at his residence.
Born on January 15, 1942, in East Liverpool, he was the son of the late Gerald Sr. and Lucille Winters Woods.
Jack was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nancy Woods, his sister, Mary Woods, and his brother, James Woods.
He attended Chester High School and proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Jack was a member of the First Christian Church in Chester. After many years working at the former Russ Davis IGA, he later retired from Sparkle Market. Jack had a passion for cars, particularly Corvettes, and was an avid sports fan who enjoyed playing slow-pitch softball. He also loved traveling.
Jack will be deeply missed by his daughters, Wendi Ramsey (Richard) of Richmond, OH, and Cendi Recinella (Jeff) of Mingo Junction, OH; his sister, Maxine Mahovlich (John) of Industry, PA; as well as his grandchildren, Jessica Ramsey, Emily Cain, Lauren, and Cole Recinella; and great-grandson, Crew Cain.
Dave Willey will officiate the service, Friday, April 11, 2025, at the Arner Funeral Chapel, at 4:00PM. Friends may visit with his family 2 hours prior to the service from 2:00-4:00PM. Private burial will be held at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to First Christian Church, 330 Indiana Ave Chester, WV. 26034.
