Gerald E. “Gerry” Zahn, age 80, a US Air Force Veteran, of Manchester, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at home following a period of declining health. For 37 years he was the beloved husband of Barbara (Berman) Zahn.
He was born September 2, 1945 in New Brighton, PA to the late Willis Elmer Zahn & Dorothy Grace (Musgrave) Zahn.
Gerry grew up in Pennsylvania, where he entered and served in the US Air Force serving stateside during the Vietnam War from 1967 until his Honorable Discharge as Captain in 1971.
Following his service, he received his Master’s Degree from Rivier College in Nashua, NH.
Prior to his retirement at the age of 78, he worked as a Contractor in the Civil Federal Service for the US Air Force and Department of Defense in several different capacities for many years.
Gerry was an avid fisherman, and he would tell you that he was a ‘terrible’ golfer.
Besides his wife, Barbara, he is survived by his four children, Ian Rollins, Eric Rollins and his wife, Jennifer, Amber Allaire and her husband Matt, and Sharni Rollins; six grandchildren, Sadie, Hunter, Emily, Erika, Jacob and Skylar; also, several siblings, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Mason.
