Geraldine A. Burling, age 81, received her angel wings on March 12th, 2025. She has joined her late husband Brian and daughter Cynthia Louise. She was a loving and caring daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and dear friend.

Geraldine, who went by "Gerry", was the daughter of late Edward and Ann Pryber; She is survived by her children; Debbie (Bill) Winarski, Bob (Lisa Wise) Burling. Grandchildren; Matt (Lauren)Winarski, Jake (Krissa) Winarski, Bryan and Ben Burling and A.J. Mansberger. Great grandchildren; Charlie, Blakely and Winston Winarski.

She was a great wife to Brian, the love of her life. There was no denying their love and commitment to each other. The way they looked at each other was like two giddy teenagers. They shared many years of married life together, building a family, and making a lot of great memories. Over the years, Brian had to endure a lot of health issues but Gerry was right there by his side for all of it, in sickness and health. Gerry proved that day after day by taking care of him, keeping him in his own home and loving him through all of it. She was his constant, his love, his partner, his caregiver until the end, and now they are reunited once again.

Gerry worked at different places and had different jobs, but one of her favorites was baking cakes. She had her own business called "Gerry's Gems". She baked wedding cakes and birthday cakes putting her special touch on each one. Her grandchildren loved her special brownies and cinnamon rolls, which she always made for them.

The past few years have not been kind to Gerry since she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. This disease was a very hard thing for her to go throughbut it did not take away her beautiful smile or grateful heart. The amount of love and support she received from her loved ones was unmatched. Her loved ones made the time she had left the best for her just like she did for Brian. Gerry was a beautiful, loving and caring person, who always had her Catholic faith. Even near the end, she continued to recite the Lord's prayer with her loved ones.

Gerry loved Dairy Queen blizzards, and hot fudge sundaes in the middle of winter. She enjoyed going to Sara's on the peninsula where she'd love to get her hot dog with dill pickle and curly fries. Gerry loved the color blue. She enjoyed walking, always looking up at the big beautiful blue sky. She enjoyed watching old movies and listening to music. Her favorite was Tom Jones. She loved animals, especially dogs, and leaves behind her companion Copper. She always talked about her late beloved dog Louie.

Gerry loved sayings and would have them hanging around her house: "Do what makes you happy, Be with those who make you Smile, Laugh as much as you breathe, and Love as long as you live"; "Even in those moments when God seems a million miles away….He isn't"; "Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God."

There are so many things we can say about Geraldine, but her children, Debbie and Bob are truly grateful to Lisa Wise who was like a daughter to their mother. Lisa took care of her, always with kindness and compassion, and cared for her deeply. It was because of her that their mother could stay in her own home. Even with her disease, there were two things she said to Lisa, "please remember I love you and thank you". The family would also like to thank Kathy Grettler who would visit, take her out for rides, send cards, and was a great friend to her; Lecom VNA Hospice angels Melissa and Jessie for their kindness and comforting support.
