Geraldine Denise "Deedee" Davis was called home by the Lord on July 10, 2025, at the age of 73. She was born on September 8, 1951, to the late Dorothy and Harold Jenkins, Sr.
She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Harold Jenkins, Jr., and Michael Jenkins.
Geraldine is survived by her siblings Gerald (her twin), David, Jennifer, Vicky, and Kenny, as well as her daughters Lisa, Lakisha, and Leslie. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a pet cat, Buttons, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was affectionately called Deedee, Mama, Grandma, Ms. Cool, and Mama D. Deedee had a passion and flair for creativity evidenced by her drawings, dancing, costume designs, and the "almost" total assistance on her daughters' school projects. They did participate by writing their names on the projects.
She was born in Norfolk, VA, and was a Mighty Booker at Booker T. Washington High School. She studied cosmetology at Ann's Beauty Academy and retired from the Gwaltney meat-packing plant. She ran hurdles, danced, did hair, and loved her family. She was the official family historian. Deedee could spark up a conversation with anyone she met.
She will truly be missed.
