Geraldine Mary Dax

Dodgeville / Avoca - It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Geraldine Mary (Hach) Dax, age 90, of Dodgeville / Avoca, on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Upland Hills Health Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born September 13, 1933, the daughter of Henry and Lucille (Thibault) Hach. She married Jim Dax in 1954. Together, they farmed in the Avoca area, while Jim also worked in construction and Geri worked outside the home as well. They raised five children.
Geri enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, Sunday afternoon rides, knitting and crocheting, bowling, and putting many jigsaw puzzles together.
Geri survived by her five children, Jim (Sue) Dax; Dean Dax; Cheryl (Tim) Astel; Karla (Rich) Vogel; Brenda (John) Riesing; three grandchildren, Rhiannon Anderson, Janelle Lange, Brock Vogel; five great grandchildren, Alexis, and Breann Anderson; Sawyer DuMond, Zoey Lange, Emersyn Vogel; one great- great grandchild, Adalyn Snodgrass. She is also survived by her siblings, many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Geri was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband Jim, her parents-in-law George and Alta Dax, her granddaughter Bailey Vogel, her sister and brother-in-law Yvonne and Gerald Peterson, brother-in-law William (Bill) Anderson, brother and sister-in-law Wayne and Jean Pauls, and one niece Linda Hach.
A private family gathering will be held, with burial at the Avoca Cemetery, at a later date.
The family suggests memorials in Geri's name be directed to the Alzheimer's Association and the Iowa County Humane Society (Dodgeville).
