Geri Ann Day, age 79, passed away peacefully and went home to Heaven on February 6, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas, following a sudden and unexpected illness surrounded by her family. Geri was born on January 28, 1947, to Jim and Pauline Aves. On September 9, 1972, she married the love of her life, Richard (RED) Day in Wichita, Kansas. They celebrated and shared 53 years of marriage. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, attending college basketball and football games, and attending anything and everything that involved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an amazing wife, mama, Mimi, and friend. She truly loved her family, and she would light up when her grandkids and great grandkids were around. She was a fierce and devoted supporter of her children and never missed an event that either were involved in. As a Mimi, she found her greatest joy--she was a constant source of unconditional love and support. Her legacy of strength, independence, loyalty, endless love, and steady presence will live on through her family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of her family.
Geri is survived by her husband of 53 years, Red of the home, daughter, Missy (Shane) Seratt of Farwell, Texas; son, Judd (Christina) Day of Springtown, Texas, four grandchildren, Haley (Alexis) Cisneros, Ashton Day, Saylor Seratt and Tristan Seratt, two great granddaughters, Addie and Bella Cisneros, her sister, Jan Price of Wichita, Kansas, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Geri is proceeded in death by her parents.
Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
