Geraldine "Gerri" Gail Guerra Mize

Ms. Geraldine "Gerri" Gail Guerra Mize, age 84, passed away peacefully at her home on October 26, 2025, in Naperville, Illinois, surrounded by family.

She was born on April 19, 1941, in Berwyn, Illinois, to her parents, Tony and Sophie (Zmuda) Guerra. She was the eldest child and only daughter of four children.

Gerri, a devoted mother, is survived by her sons: John (Ken Hickey) Gjersoe, Robert (Sandra Frink) Gjersoe, and Jeffrey (Cassia) Gjersoe. She was cherished by her brothers Tony (Kathy) Guerra and Thomas (Annette) Guerra, as well as her sister-in-law, Carolyn (Bogden) Guerra, and many close cousins, relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Raymond Guerra.

Gerri graduated from Morton East High School in Cicero, Illinois. She maintained a lifelong connection to her alma mater by serving on reunion committees, reflecting the enduring ties to her community and friends.

Gerri was always thoughtful and caring, always remembering families' and friends' birthdays and celebrations.

One of her greatest strengths was developing friendships and surrounding herself with wonderful people. She was known for the warmth she brought to those around her.

In her later years, Gerri remained actively involved in many senior community activities. Her favorite events were attending bingo games at the Senior Center in Lisle, Illinois, or attending classes and presentations at The Center (a spiritual and community center offering a peaceful retreat for people of all backgrounds) in Palos Park, Illinois.

May her memory bring comfort and peace to all who knew and loved her.
