Geraldine "Gerri" Grimes

Mrs. Geraldine "Gerri" Grimes, age 89, a resident of Auburndale passed away Sunday, July 13, 2025, at home surrounded by family. Mrs. Grimes was born August 7. 1935 in Kingston, Alabama to William Henry David and Mattie Lou (Harris) Hillard. She was a Polk County resident since the 1980's, coming from Texas formally from Auburndale. She and her late husband were the Owner's of Little Wheels Trucking Company in Auburndale. Gerri enjoyed eating out, shopping, collecting dolls and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband – Thomas Mitchell Grimes in 2009; son – Randall Blankenship and 3 sisters. Gerri is survived by her loving family, daughter – Sherry Gardner; stepson – Joseph (Anna) Grimes; 7 grandchildren – Randy, Dusty, Brandy (Dusty), Sandy (Adam), Cody (Jess), Mandy (Shon) and Crystal (Warren); 7 great grandchildren – Tyler, Parker, Kimberly, Hanna, Dustyn Ray, Maci and Randall. Funeral services will be held 11am Monday, July 21st at Kersey Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
