Geraldine Hedgecough

BAXTER CHAPEL-Geraldine Hedgecough, 91 of Baxter, was born March 31, 1934 in Baxter and died Sunday morning, October 19, 2025 at NHC of Cookeville.

Geraldine enjoyed helping her late husband in the chores of farm life. She worked hard in her garden until her health declined, cooking and canning. She looked forward to spending time with family and friends.

Faith was an important part of Geraldine's life, she loved worshipping at Lilly's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church with her church family.

Geraldine is survived by her daughter Tracy Herron of Algood, grandchildren: Brian (Rebecca) Huddleston, Shauntay (Eric) Johnson, great-grandchildren: Joseph "Joey" Andrew Huddleston, Eban Johnson, Asanti Baird and Lorenzo Johnson.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Jack and Dollie York Moss, her husband of 70 years, Zina Hedgecough on August 17, 2021, daughter Dianna Lynn Hedgecough, sisters Louise Herron, Reba Hart and brothers Marvin Moss and Charles T. "Charlie" Moss.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 22 at 12 Noon at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home, 532 4th Avenue South, Baxter, TN with Bro. Gary Norton officiating. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM and after 10 AM Wednesday until service time at 12 Noon.

Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Julian, Dennis Massa, Benny Fields, Ron Whitefield, Donnie Maxwell and Joey Huddleston.
