Geraldine Ora Hilley, cherished mother and beloved sister, passed away on September 10, 2025, at the Town Hall Estates Nursing Home in Arlington, Texas. Born on January 31, 1924, in Cove, Arkansas, Geraldine was the daughter of Ora and Grover McDaniel, and she spent her formative years growing up in the vibrant landscapes of Arkansas and Oklahoma.
Geraldine's life was marked by her deep love for family and her unwavering commitment to nurturing those around her. As a devoted mother to three daughters, she exemplified what it meant to be loving and supportive. A career in shoe sales showcased her talents in connecting with people, as she truly enjoyed conversing with others and lending a helping hand whenever possible. Furthermore, Geraldine found joy in country and western dancing, a testament to her vivacious spirit and zest for life.
Her legacy is enriched by the memories created within her family. Geraldine is preceded in death by her parents and eleven beloved siblings. She is survived by her sister, Juanita Boyce, and her family residing in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She leaves behind her daughters: Shirly Hagood of Burleson, Texas, Boni Keylon, Wanda and Dennis Curl from Arlington, Texas along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who carry on her spirit.
A graveside service will be held to honor Geraldine’s remarkable life on September 15, 2025, at Emerald Hills Funeral Home & Memorial Park in Kennedale, Texas. The service will commence at 11:00 AM, with a time for visitation beginning twenty minutes prior if you want to view her. Otherwise, Guests may also proceed directly to the graveside, funeral home staff will be available to assist if needed.
Geraldine's family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who provided care and support during her time at Town Hall Estates Nursing Home CNA’S: Maggy, Alodia, Christina, Kim and more, particularly the dedicated staff of Hospice Plus (Minnie and Gloria etc.), as well as the compassionate nurses and administration who comforted her in her final days.
