Geraldine “ Jerry” Osborne of Hyden, Ky, aged 80, passed away peacefully from this life at her home on March 28, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born on September 11, 1945, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Renny and Nelly Couch Asher, Geraldine’s life was marked by love, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to her family and community. She was a homemaker, loving wife, a devoted mother and cherished grandmother.

Geraldine married her beloved husband, James "Jim" Osborne, on June 3, 1961, in Tennessee. Together, they built a life filled with joy and steadfast support, raising their child with warmth and care. Jim cared for Geraldine though her years of sickness with selfless love and genuine care up until her passing. Throughout her years, Geraldine lovingly focused on her role as a homemaker, always prioritizing the well-being and happiness of her family.

Her home was a gathering place where laughter and love flourished. She took immense pride in attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, becoming their biggest fan, especially when it came to football, which held a special place in her heart. She was always present, cheering them on and never missing a game.

Outside of family life, Geraldine had a passion for sewing, shopping, as well as an appreciation for the outdoors—enjoying camping and fishing—and was an avid reader.  Above all, Geraldine treasured the quality time spent with her family.

A long-time member of the Couch’s Fork Church of God at Bear Branch, Kentucky, Geraldine’s faith and involvement in her church community were among her proudest accomplishments. She found strength and comfort in her faith, which helped guide her throughout her life.

Geraldine leaves behind her devoted husband, James "Jim" Osborne of Hyden, Kentucky; her son Alan Osborne and his wife Janna of Hyden; and her sister Grace Osborne, also of Hyden. Her legacy extends to her cherished grandchildren Tasha Osborne Hollin (Willie Joe), Kisha Osborne Fouts (Josh Whitlow), Dakota Brooke Osborne Brock (Aaron Vanwinkle), and Lauren Turner. She is also lovingly remembered by her treasured great-grandchildren: Connor Hollin (Makayla Couch), Peyton Fouts, Riley Hollin (Sarah Osborne),  Braxton Brock, Colton Fouts, Ryder Brock, and Brody Fouts, as well as a cherished great-great grandchildren, Gabriella Hollin and Lainey Hollin. A host of other family members and friends who were touched by her kindness and generosity also survive her.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents Renny and Nelly Couch Asher; her brothers Arbert, Arnold, Earnest, Mac, and Burton Asher; and her sister Rose Witt; brother-in-law Otis Osborne; and a special friend Deb Hensley.
