Geraldine Johnson, 81 born on September 29, 1944, in Liberty, Kentucky, departed this world far too soon on October 5, 2025, in Greenfield, IN.
Geraldine was a woman who believed in celebrating life's special moments. She went above and beyond for her family, she attended many football, baseball, basketball and softball games. She was the glue that held her family together.
Geraldine is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Ethel Payton, Son in law, Tommy Garrett and her sister Mary Tapscott, who surely welcomed her with open arms.
Mom leaves behind a loving family that includes Cherri Garrett (Garry), Eddie Johnson Jr. (Pat) Debbie Gibbs (Keith); her cherished grandchildren, Heather, Crystal, Hollie, and Rusty; and five great-grandchildren Jaylen, Cody, LilWill, Caylee and Jaxon. Mom also leaves behind her siblings, Ellen, Maxine, Dorothy, Edgar and James.
She will be profoundly missed by her family and friends, for she was truly one of a kind.
Visitation services are scheduled for October 13, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and again on October 14, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Washington Park East, located at 10722 E Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46229. A funeral service will follow on October 14, 2025, at 11:00 AM, culminating with a graveside service at 12:00 PM.
