It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Geraldine (Jerry) Marie Kohout, who peacefully left this world on May 27, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on July 15, 1942, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, Jerry was the daughter of Marshall and Virginia Weber.
After graduating from Humboldt High School, she pursued higher education and earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Minnesota, embarking on a fulfilling career as a special needs educator in the Saint Paul School District. Jerry also played the bass guitar and sang vocals in musical venues and local nightclubs to earn a second income, in raising her two children.
Jerry found joy in artistic endeavors such as painting and crocheting, sharing a love for movies with her daughter and participating in get togethers with family, steak dinners being their favorite menu item. Her warm personality and sense of humor endeared her to all who knew her, and she cherished moments spent playing cards and engaging in meaningful conversations with her friends at the Senior Center. The Happy Hookers were the name of her crochet club.
In the early 2000s, Jerry moved from Mahtomedi to Forest Lake, fulfilling her dream of a lakeside home and joining her daughter and her brother, Frank to be neighbors on the lake. Preceded in death by her parents; son, Brian Kohout, and brothers, Joseph and Frank Weber, she is survived by her daughter Cristine Wild and husband Rick; cherished grandchildren, Benjamin, Jonathon, Samuel, and Elizabeth; brother, Bill (Kari) Weber; nieces, Kelsey (Eric), Kirsten (Rob), Rachel, Reilin (Ryan), Heidi; 11 great grand nieces and nephews along with extended family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at the Church of Saint Peter, Forest Lake. Interment at Calvary Cemetery, Forest Lake, Minnesota.
May her memory be a blessing and may she rest in eternal peace.
