A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Herman William "Buck" Wright and Myrtle McFalls Wright. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, James William Lingerfelt, Sr.; one son, James William Lingerfelt Jr.; one sister, Christine Stetar and one brother James Morris Wright.
Geraldine is survived by two children, Sherry Lingerfelt Levi (her husband Kerry) and Thomas Buchanan Lingerfelt (his wife Sonya); seven grandchildren, James Allan Levi, Bethany Ann Lingerfelt, James John William Lingerfelt III, Brittney Buckner, John Levi, Joseph Levi and Megan Cardenas; ten great grandchildren; one sister, Edith Austin and two brothers, Herman William Wright Jr. and Jerry Wright.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 17 in the Chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian in Arden with burial to follow at Elk Mountain Cemetery. Her family will greet friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM and flowers are appreciated.
