It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Geraldine Lobsinger – a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and a woman whose warmth and steady presence shaped our family in countless ways. Born on May 4, 1931 the daughter of Joseph and Marie Schnurr, she passed peacefully on April 19th, 2025. Sister of the late John (Pauline) Schnurr, Phyllis (Donald) Confer, Elizabeth Bousson, and Dorothy (Ronald) Haslett.
Geraldine (Gerry to those who knew her best) shared 70 wonderful years of marriage with her husband Richard. Together they raised Laurie (Jim) Cross, Denise (Dale) Alexander, and Terry (Renee) Lobsinger. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Megan, Matthew, Eryn, Jacob, Allyson, Lindsey, Joshua, and Emily.
She showed her love through thoughtful care – packing every possible supply for family trips to Birch Lake (always toilet paper, always macaroni salad), playing with her grandkids, and sneakily pinching them with her toes with surprising force.
She had a playful streak and a sharp mind – always up for puzzles, mahjong, card games, or a bit of gambling. She loved to polka with Richard, wear silly hats and taste a splash of Baileys in the afternoon. At Christmas, she packed gift bags for family filled with snacks and candy for each, then watched with delight as they traded and bargained like pros. And she never missed a chance to throw out a dramatic "I'm watching you," with a wink.
As her children were growing up, Geraldine created and ran a flourishing cake decorating business. The aroma of freshly baked cakes filled the kitchen and they enjoyed eating the leftovers and scraps..
Florida winters brought her peace – days by the pool, mornings sitting on the porch, and sweet moments with family. She loved it when the grand- children visited and would treat them to trips to the Dollar Tree to splurge on whatever they wanted. She loved the Florida community. the card nights, trips to the casino, talent shows and potluck dinners.
She brought her children up in a faith based home. During her pregnancies she painted a color-by-number of the Last Supper that she then hung above her dining table for decades – a reminder of her confident belief in the Higher Power above.
Gerry's life was made of everyday magic – ordinary moments turned memorable by her humor, generosity, and love. We'll hold those memories close, and we'll keep her with us in all the little things she made special.
