Geraldine Rebecca Romero, a vibrant and loving individual, passed away on February 4, 2026, in Las Vegas, New Mexico, at the age of 38. Born on August 5, 1987, in Santa Rosa, New Mexico, Geraldine touched the lives of many throughout her journey.
Geraldine had a multifaceted career, contributing her talents to various places, including Santa Rosa Professional Counseling Services, Dollar General, and later, McDonald's. Her professional endeavors were complemented by her educational achievements; she attended Santa Rosa Consolidated Schools, where she graduated from Santa Rosa High School and earned her Phlebotomy Certificate, showcasing her dedication to personal growth and community service.
A fun-loving spirit, Geraldine found joy in the simplest moments, especially those spent with her three beloved boys: Devin Romero, along with his partner Maya Siez, Damitri Thompson, and Kenneth Thompson. She also cherished her dog, Cammi, who was a constant companion and source of comfort. Geraldine was known for her love of beauty, often enjoying sessions of doing her nails and makeup, and she had a penchant for reality television, particularly "Keeping Up With The Kardashians."
Geraldine's warmth and vivacity extended beyond her immediate family. She is survived by her sisters, Danielle Romero (Matthew Hoehne), and Tanya Romero, as well as her cherished nephews and nieces, Ely Hoehne, C.J. Rodriguez, Rudy Molina, Andrew Rodriguez, Brandi Romero, and Shari Romero. She will be profoundly missed by her family and friends who remember her infectious laughter and loving nature.
Geraldine was engaged to Daniel Thompson, who also preceded her in death, and her passing is felt deeply by those who loved her. Also preceding Geraldine in death are her parents, Jose Dan Romero and Marcella (Velasquez) Romero, and her paternal and maternal grandparents, Ernesto and Ismela (Fajardo) Romero, and Jesus J. and Eralda (Rivera) Velasquez.
As we celebrate her life, we honor the memories she created and the legacy of love she leaves behind.
Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, February 17, 2026 beginning at 10AM at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa.
Interment of cremains will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Santa Rosa with Devin Romero, Damitri Thompson, Kenneth Thompson and Ely Hoehne serving as Urn Bearers.
