Geraldine Ann Smith, long-time resident of Oklahoma City, OK and known by her family and friends as Jerriann, died peacefully in her home on June 27, 2025. Jerriann is survived by her husband of 58 years Kent Smith, her two siblings Ronald and Richard Tiehen, three children Lori Carter, Jay Smith, and Shaun Smith, and nine grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Marian Tiehen and sister-in-law Penny Tiehen.

Jerriann was born in Ardmore, OK in 1946 and attended school in Velma, OK before transferring to and graduating from Duncan High School in 1965 as a cheerleader and a proud member of the Jolly Jills. Jerriann went on to study Sociology and enjoy life as a college student and member of the Chi Omega sorority at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK prior to embarking on her next phase of life as a beloved wife, mother, homemaker, and eventually the grandmother affectionately known by her family as “Gigi.”

Throughout all these stages of her life, Jerriann was truly a joy to be around. She almost always had a smile on her face, was quick to find humor and laugh along with whomever she was around, and just loved to talk and be a great listener. She loved to read books (mostly non-fiction), was a faithful reader of the newspaper everyday cover to cover, and loved when she got an opportunity to engage in intelligent conversation on whatever topics she may have read about. Jerriann kept that kind smile, easy laugh and infectious joy all the way to her final days, and we will miss her dearly.

Funeral services to be held on July 2nd at St John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edmond, OK with graveside service to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Oklahoma City.
