Treasured wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Geraldine Griffin
Wheaton, age 88, of Westford, Massachusetts, went with Jesus to her heavenly
home on Saturday, October 4, 2025.
Geraldine graduated in 1955 from Clifford J. Scott High School in East
Orange, NJ, where she was born to John and Bertha (O'Connor) Griffin,
and raised with her sisters Dolores, Monica, Veronica, Mary, and her
brother John. In addition to being preceded in death by her parents, she
was predeceased by her beloved younger sister Mary, to whom
Geraldine was a living kidney donor in June of 1967, enabling her to live
an additional eight years.
Geraldine loved her family fiercely and derived the greatest joy in
spending time with them. She was a faithful member of Redeemer
Presbyterian Church of Concord, where she loved to worship her Lord
and Savior, Jesus Christ, alongside the church family that she deeply
cherished. With the huge "servant's heart" that she was known to have,
Geraldine ministered unwaveringly to her family, friends, and community
members through her relentless acts of kindness, fervently praying over
them, spending conversational time, preparing meals, and writing
encouraging notes. It was often said of Geraldine "I came away
blessed any time I was so much as in her presence!"
Geraldine is survived by her adoring husband, Gerald; her children,
Gerry and Jessica (O'Brien) Wheaton of Fort Mill, SC, and Julie
(Wheaton) and Mike Minchello of Westford, MA; 7 grandsons, Gerald
III, Nate, Andrew, William, and Wesley Wheaton, and Joe and Tommy
Minchello; 3 granddaughters, Ava, Gianna, and Lila Minchello.
Family and friends are invited to gather for Geraldine's funeral services
on Friday, October 10th at 11am at Faith Evangelical Free Church, 54
Hosmer Street, Acton, MA. Burial will immediately follow at Woodlawn Cemetery
with a reception to follow at Faith Evangelical Free Church.
Arrangements are entrusted to Acton Funeral Home of Acton, MA.
