Geraldine Ball Zintel "Gerry"
Geraldine "Gerry" Zintel, 90, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2023 surrounded by her beloved family. Gerry was born to Gerald Ball and Helen Robinson Ball on January 27, 1933. She is survived by her children son Timothy Zintel(Janice) and daughter Jerilynn (Mike) Foley, granddaughter Jennifer Foley (Zach) and three great-granddaughters Arya, Caroline and McKenzie. Gerry was also blessed with bonus grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Michael and Colleen Foley, Marissa, Michaela, Joseph Foley, Jamie and Josh Parrish, Brady, Troy, Dylan and Sophia. She is predeceased by her husband of 66 years Paul "Coach" Zintel, mother Helen, father Gerald, sister Marilyn and son Julio Alonso
Gerry had a very successful career as a registered nurse for 40+ years. She cared deeply for her patients and was always available for her friends and family that required care. Her nursing career encompassed many areas of expertise, mostly as a critical care RN. Gerry never thought twice if there was anyone in need, she was always the first to volunteer to care for all people who were suffering.
Gerry lived with her family in Jeffersonville, NY for many years. She and Coach moved to Foley Al in 1993 where she remained until 2019 when she and Paul moved to Elsmere KY to be near family. Her focus of life the last few years has been being GiGi to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Gerry had a deep spiritual faith and served her community in Foley Al as a devout member of the First Presbyterian Church of Foley, AL. She developed many friendships in her church that she loved dearly. She found solace by serving her Lord and being able to share the Good Word with her community. Gerry's life was very fulfilling, and she enjoyed life to the fullest.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her honor can be made to The First Presbyterian Church of Foley, Al or organization of your choice. A celebration of life will be planned for the near future.
