In Loving Memory of Jerry Hubertus

Jerry Hubertus, 80, of Newtown, Connecticut, passed away on 12/30/2025 surrounded by the love of his family. He leaves behind his devoted wife of over 59 years, Jackie, who was the center of his world and the partner he cherished deeply throughout their long life together.

Jerry is survived by his three children and eight grandchildren, each of whom carry forward his values, humor, and steady guidance:

• James and wife Michelle of Short Hills, NJ , and their children Jacob, Rachel, and Mark

• William and wife Amy of Hope Valley, RI, and their children Benjamin, Nathan, and Lauren

• Kristen and husband Ken of Basking Ridge, NJ , and their children Alexander and Gabrielle

Born with a curious mind and a generous spirit, Jerry built a life defined by dedication-to his family, his work, his faith, and his community. He spent more than 35 years at IBM, where his technical skill and steady leadership earned the respect of colleagues and friends. When the IBM PC first arrived, Jerry eagerly embraced it, passing along his love of technology to his children and sparking a passion that would shape their lives.

Outside of work, Jerry found joy in the simple, steady rhythms of the outdoors. He loved golfing, especially with his brothers-biking, and kayaking. Some of his happiest days were spent on annual family vacations at Lake George where he created traditions and memories that will be treasured for generations. He also enjoyed many winters with Jackie at Hilton Head, SC and Delray Beach, FL.

Wherever Jerry lived, he invested himself fully. He served on community boards, volunteered in countless ways, and offered his time and talents without hesitation. His faith guided him, grounding his life in purpose, kindness, and gratitude.

Above all, Jerry was a family man. He delighted in being a husband, father, and grandfather, and he poured his heart into every role. His legacy lives on in the people he loved, the communities he strengthened, and the countless moments of laughter, guidance, and warmth he shared.

Jerry will be deeply missed and forever remembered
