With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gerard P. Moran, a cherished soul whose journey departed this world on December 14, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on April 9, 1957, Gerard left a profound mark on all who knew him, characterized by his unwavering kindness, warmth, and dedication to family.
Gerard's remarkable career as a Coast Guard member spanned over 23 years, from 1977 to 2000. His devotion to service culminated in his final duty station at the Training Center in Cape May, NJ, where he inspired countless others with his commitment and leadership. Gerard embodied the spirit of service, always willing to lend a helping hand and support his fellow colleagues.
Beyond his professional life, Gerard had a passion for traveling, particularly cherishing visits to Ireland and exploring the enchanting Bunratty Castle. These excursions nourished his spirit and connected him with his heritage, further enriching the memories he created with his loved ones.
As a family man, Gerard was celebrated for being friendly, kind, and respectful. His love for family was evident through his actions, and he embraced every moment spent with them. He was predeceased by his beloved parents, William and Alice (McMahon) Moran, his sister, Colleen A. Moran, and his nephew, Brandon T. Moran.
The legacy of Gerard P. Moran is one of love, compassion, and everlasting impact. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
Visitation will be held on January 20, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at The Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home, located at 86 Bartholdi Ave, Butler, NJ, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM and burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery at 11:30 AM. As we say our goodbyes, we invite all who knew Gerard to join us in celebrating his extraordinary life.
