Gerard Vieux, 95 of Port Charlotte, Florida was called to the Lord due to natural causes on Sunday, August 18, 2024.
Gerard also known as Gerry was born in Port Au Prince, Haiti in 1929. He immigrated to the United States in 1958. He lived in New York and worked as an EMT until he and his family moved to Florida in 1976. In his spare time, he had a passion for gardening. He grew fruits, vegetables and most importantly peppers. Gerry loved peppers, the hotter the better. Another of his favorite pastimes was professional wrestling. He was an avid fan and regularly attended matches at the Madison Square Garden and whenever it was on tv he would be riveted. He also loved music, especially calypso, and would often dance the night away with a smile on his face. Gerry was a world traveler. He and his wife enjoyed trips to Hawaii, Alaska, Australia, New Zealand and many European countries. He will be deeply missed by all, but he left us with many warm and happy memories. May Gerry rest in heavenly peace.
Gerard is survived by his devoted wife, three children, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and his younger brother, Bonnie, his only living sibling.
A visitation will be held 10:00AM-11:00AM with a funeral service to follow at 11:00AM, Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Global Methodist Church in Port Charlotte, Florida. An inurnment will be held at a later date by the family.
