Gerard Nicholas Von Dohlen

Gerard (Jerry) Nicholas von Dohlen, age 82, of Tenafly, NJ passed away on March 5, 2025. He was the beloved husband of 61 years to Mary Lou (Boschan) von Dohlen, devoted father of Jerry and Paul von Dohlen and cherished father-in-law to Jessica Taylor and Kyleigh (Kanzenbach) von Dohlen, dear brother of William von Dohlen, and loving grandfather of Kate, Lauren, Sarah, Max, and Addy. Jerry led a long and accomplished life. He was a professor at Columbia University, a banker with Chemical Bank, served as President of Seaway Hotels Corp, ran two refrigerated warehouses in Newark, and started a bagel distribution company. Jerry was known for his strong personality, his sense of humor, and his love for his family. Family and friends are invited to attend the Viewing and Visitation on Sunday March 9, 2025, from 2-6pm at the Barrett Leber Funeral Home in Tenafly, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday March 10, 2025, at 11am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel church, also in Tenafly, NJ.
