Gerd F. Bartmann,
Gerd passed away on March 2, 2022, at the age of 96. He was born January 26, 1926 in Stettin, Germany to Karl and Martha Bartmann. He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia (nee Hale), his son Daniel, and his sister Ellen (Walter) Engel.
Gerd was a member of the New Apostolic Church and was a youth leader and member of the choir. He loved camping and boating on family vacations in Eagle River. His past times included working with his 'N' gauge trains and computers. He also enjoyed his Southern Comfort and Chocolate Covered Cherries, which made perfect gifts on his birthday and Christmas.
He joined the Army and trained as a paratrooper, earning the rank of second lieutenant. After leaving the service, he worked in the printing business as a Lithographer. After retirement, he served as a crossing guard in Waukesha.
He is survived by his daughters, Kathleen (James) Wick, Diane Bartmann, son Robert (Barbara),eight grandchildren,and ten great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 380 Bluemound Road, Waukesha, with Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 AM. Private interment following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gerd's honor to the New Apostolic Church.
The family wants to thank everyone for their cards and prayers, which meant so much during this time.
