Gerhard Ludwig Schultz entered Heaven’s Glory with his Saviour. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 18, 2026. He was born on November 21,1930, in Chicago, IL to Adolf and Rosalie Schultz.
He is lovingly remembered by his two surviving daughters, Dawn Bandolik and Beth (James) Walsh; daughter-in-law Noreen McGuire; brothers, Hans (late Diane) Schultz, Sophie (late Norman) Earl; grandchildren Lauren Besser, Claire (Brandon) Farrington, and Elizabeth Schultz, Ryne (Jennifer) Bandolik, Brittany Bandolik, Brock (Annie) Bandolik, Demi Bandolik, Chase Bandolik, and Tara (Jeffrey) Malbasa, Casey (Shazzan) Bahrainwala, and James (Elizabeth) Walsh; great grandchildren, Jolene Bandolik, Reilly Bandolik, Edie Bandolik, Joseph Malbasa, Scott Malbasa, Michael Malbasa, Nora Bahrainwala, Alex Bahrainwala, and Dominic Walsh.
He was preceded in death by his cherished wife of 73 years, Sigrid Schulz; son, Chad Schultz; brother Carl Schultz; sister Doris Neteland; and his parents.
He was a loving devoted husband and father. While he accomplished much in his professional life, nothing compared to the joy he found in his family. Steadfast, prayerful, and unwavering in his faith, he lived each day trusting in God’s goodness. He delighted in being “Grandad,” treasuring every moment with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 1 p.m. to time of Funeral 2 p.m. all at The Orchard Church, 1330 N Douglas Avenue, Arlington Heights, IL 60004, with a reception to follow at 3 p.m. Burial will be held at 5 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Barrington.
