LIGONIER - Geri L. Grigsby, 66, passed away peacefully at home with her loving family around her on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2025.
Born in Bowling Green, Ohio, on February 26, 1959, Geri was the daughter of Joseph Oglesbee Jr., and Gerry (Hines) Gentle.
She graduated from Central Noble High School.
In Ligonier, Indiana, on Feb. 14, 2013, Geri married Gorth Grigsby.
She worked for Vibracoustic Technology for 25 years, before her retirement. Geri got bored with retirement and decided to get a part-time job at Family Dollar in Ligonier.
Geri was goofy, funny and generous. She was a best friend to many and had the best shoulder to cry on and ears to listen. She was always there for anyone and would give the shirt off her back. She taught her children and grandchildren to always work for what you want in life.
If you needed a recipe, Geri was the one to call. She loved to bake and have sweet treats at her house when you came. She enjoyed doing crafts, making diamond art, and loved collecting hummingbird décor. Geri loved the Hallmark Channel and was an avid shopper. Christmas shopping was her favorite with her daughters and sister. She was simple and loved just sitting on her back porch, swinging with her dog Zeva, and watching the birds and gazing at her beautiful flower garden. She treasured time with her grandchildren and making memories.
She also attended Ligonier Church of the Nazarene.
Geri is survived by her husband, Gorth; two daughters, Amy (Gene) Sabin, of Ligonier and Amber (Michael Delia) Hontz, of Kimmell; stepchildren, Lisa Grigsby-Hicks, of Kendallville and Chad Grigsby; one grandson, Jacob Mast, of San Diego, California; and several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are her siblings, Bridget Bontrager, of LaGrange, Vickie Roney, of Michigan, John (Susan) Oglesbee, of Syracuse and Jodi Koss, of Rome City, Indiana; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Randy Oglesbee; and sister, Cindy Davis.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2025, at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 5, 2025, at noon, at Yeager Funeral Home with Pastor Josh Sheets officiating.
