George Frank Walker, 86, of Clyde passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024, in an Abilene hospital. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. July 13, 2024, at Northwest Church of Christ with Ian Shelburne officiating.
George was born January 16, 1938, in Corsicana to William Franklin and Bulah Lillian (Purcell) Walker. He attended school and graduated from Midland ISD. He married Patsy Norris in Midland on November 10, 1956. George was a retired truck driver and worked for Dart for 20 years and received the "Million Miler Ring". He was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams included the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars. He was a member of Northwest Church of Christ.
He is survived by three sons, Dennis Walker and wife Verna of Buffalo Gap, Mike Walker and wife Jenise of Clyde and Perry Walker and wife Robin of Coppell; two brothers, Earl Walker and Larry Walker, both of Greenville; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy; his parents, Frank and Bulah; sisters, Virginia Peacock, Dorita Bradshaw and Etta Dirickson and his brother, Marvin Walker.
