EDINBURG - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Geronimo Puente Jr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left this world on February 18, 2026, at the age of 63. Born on October 12, 1962, in Edinburg, Texas, Geronimo lived a life defined by a deep love for his family, a passion for travel, and an unwavering faith in God.
As a devoted truck driver, Geronimo enjoyed exploring new places and meeting people from all walks of life. His travels were always accompanied by his love for music and a profound desire to spread God's word everywhere he went. A true believer, he found solace and strength through his faith and was actively involved in his church, The Pentecostals of Weslaco, where he went above and beyond to support his extended church family.
Geronimo was a humble man whose heart was full of love. His legacy lives on in the cherished memories he created with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He touched countless lives with his kindness and compassion, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Geronimo was preceded in death by his parents Jeronimo and Elvira Puente.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Irma Puente, children Michael Sanchez, Eric Sanchez, Alberto Quintero Jr., Rachel Puente Aguiano, Krystal P. Zambrano, and Kenysha Bernal, 18 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and another granchild on the way. Geronimo is also survived numerous family members as well as his church family.
As per Geronimo's wishes, cremation will be at a later date.
As we come together to bid farewell to Geronimo, we remember his spirit of generosity, his unwavering faith, and the love he shared with those around him. His presence will be profoundly missed, but his love and teachings will continue to inspire us all.
Rest in peace, Geronimo Puente Jr. You will forever remain in our hearts.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dr. Jospeh Conde and staff at Serenity Funeral Chapels located on 1401 E. Santa Rosa Ave Edcouch.
