Geronimo "Jerry" Zamora
Geronimo Zamora, age 62 of Nixon, TX passed away on Thursday, August 28 2025. Geronimo was born to parents Leonardo M Zamora Sr. and Ernestina Sanchez Zamora on October 01, 1962 in Corpus Christi, TX.
Geronimo was a quiet man who loved nature and wildlife. He enjoyed dancing and bull riding, as well as a good game of pool. Later in life he found a love for fishing, however, his true passion was always his art. Aside from his hobbies, Geronimo's biggest love were his children and family.
He is preceded in death by his father Leonardo M Zamora Sr.; and sister, Tina Crawford.
Geronimo is survived by his mother Ernestina Sanchez Zamora; his children, Cassi Mogford (David), Trace Ryan Roland, and Matthew Zamora; his life partner, Flora Escalante; step children, and grandchildren, Meghan Escalante (Alicia, Jenavicia, Javy'n, Enzo), Carlos Escalante (April, Cruz, Caleb, Addison), Burt Escalante (Jennifer, Jeremiah, Constance, Morgan); siblings, Gracey Carrillo (Frank), Ruben Hernandez, Leonardo Zamora Jr (Sylvia), along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Geronimo has left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered, and he will be missed immensely.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 03, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited by Deacon Nick Carrillo at 6:00 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service will be held Thursday, September 04, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with a procession to leave Tres Hewell Mortuary at 9:30 a.m. followed by interment at San Geronimo Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Zamora, Leonardo Zamora III, Daniel Zamora, Lawrence Casas, Joe Hecox, Angel Moreno, and Artie Borrego.
