Edward Lopez Gonzales

Edward Gonzales, age 76 of Kingsbury, Texas was born on May 8, 1949 to Angela (Lopez) and Arthur Castro Gonzales. He passed from this life on October 4, 2025.
Edward was a man of quiet strength, great pride, and deep devotion to his country, his work, and his family. Edward proudly served his country as a United States Marine Corps Scout Sniper during the Vietnam War, taking part in highly classified missions with courage and dedication. His military service earned him numerous medals and commendations, including the prestigious Presidential Award. After his military career, Edward continued to serve his community for 23 years with the Bexar County Sheriff's Office, where he rose to the rank of Sergeant. His leadership, professionalism, and integrity left a lasting impression on those who worked beside him. When not in uniform, Edward loved being outdoors, working on his property, and taking pride in keeping it beautiful. He also enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and family.
He is survived by his son, Alexander Uriegas and family; Joanna, Cole, and Adelynn; along with Tony Gonzales, Xavier Gonzales, George Gonzales, Irma Telchow, Mary Lou Frausto, and Angela Dallof. Edward is also survived by numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Visitation will be held at Tres Hewell Mortuary on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6:00 p.m. with Deacon Nick Carrillo will be officiating. Graveside and interment with full military honors will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. with The Reverend Greg Nevlud officiating.
