Gerrasimos Pavlatos
October 25, 1977 – February 28, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gerrasimos Pavlatos, who left us too soon. He was a devoted firefighter, a loving father, and a cherished son, brother, and friend. His dedication to serving others was evident in his time with the New York Police Department, which he joined in 2005, and later as a firefighter with FDNY, where he served at 262 Firehouse.
Beyond his career, Gerrasimos was a man of many passions. A dedicated New York Mets fan, he was an excellent third baseman and a great defensive basketball player and shooter. He loved baseball and basketball, excelling in both. His love for physical fitness and nutrition kept him active and strong, and he had a special appreciation for chocolate milk and peanut butter.
Gerrasimos also had an exceptional love for history, particularly World War I and World War II, in which he was highly knowledgeable. His passion for these historical eras made him an expert in their events, strategies, and significance, and he loved sharing his knowledge with those around him.
Music was another part of his life-he enjoyed freestyle music in the '90s and later became a fan of Stone Temple Pilots.
Above all, Gerrasimos was a beautiful man, inside and out. He was a devoted father to his beloved children, Athena Pavlatos and Leonidas Pavlatos. He is survived by his loving parents, Angeliki Koutras and Basile Pavlatos, his sister Christine Pavlatos, and his brother Elias Pavlatos. His love, laughter, and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Funeral Arrangements
A wake will be held at Roslyn Heights Funeral Home (75 Mineola Ave, Roslyn Heights, NY 11577) on:
• Tuesday, March 4th: 3 PM – 7 PM
• Wednesday, March 5th: 2 PM – 4 PM and 7 PM – 9 PM
The funeral service will take place at Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church (100 Fairway Dr, Port Washington, NY 11050) on Thursday, March 6th, at 10 AM.
Family and friends are invited to attend and honor Gerrasimos' life and legacy. His memory will forever live on in our hearts.
