Gerry Berry, born in Frankfort, IN and raised in Colfax, IN passed away on 11/8/2025 at his home in Florida with family and friends by his side.

A proud United States Marine, Gerry served his country from 1967-1969. His time in the Marines shaped the strength, discipline and sense of pride that he carried throughout his life.

After returning home, Gerry became a very successful businessman and was the owner of American Paving and Asphalt, which he late sold before retiring. Known for his hard work and determination, he built a company and a reputation that reflected his dedication and leadership. During this time of owning the business he made friends. Anyone that Gerry came into contact with he made friends with. Between his love for his friends and family he also was into showing "old fashioned cars" he eventually gave up that hobby and decided the weather in Indiana just was not for him and he packed his belongings and moved to Florida where he was a very happy camper. The warmer the better. Indiana was always cold to him. He also loved cats; he leaves behind 2 cats he dearly cared for.

Gerry married Sharon Hughel (ex-wife) and had 1 child together; Mellainie Miller and she survives but also remarried Jill Berry (deceased) and he had a stepdaughter; Rene Mills and she survives. Jill passed away in 2019 and since then Gerry was never the same.

Gerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife Jill Berry (mother of Rene Mills) and his former wife Sharon Hughel, the mother of his only child Mel Miller.

Surviving are his daughters Mel Miller (Kit) and Rene Mills. His girlfriend Rose. He also had many grandkids; Megan Marshall (Jeff), Ashley Wynn, Kasey Wynn, Sam Wynn, Elizabeth Foster (Colin), Kariel Wynn, Thomas and Lucy. He also has many great grandchildren that he adored.

In honor of Gerry, please wear casual clothing and all his friends come to celebrate the many memories with family and friends. A graveside service will be held at Meadow View Cemetery, 3733 Poland Hill Road Lafayette, IN at 2:30 pm on Thursday, December 18, 2025. As all his friends would say, "He came into this world as an asshole and left this world as one".
