Gertrude Ann "Gertie" Gaines

Gertrude "Gertie" Ann Gaines, 90, of Irving, Texas, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, July 13, 2022, with her family by her side.
She was born December 1, 1931, in Fairmont Minnesota, to the late Harvey H. Thomas and the late Ida Belle Dowd Thomas.
After graduating high school in May of 1950, she would marry the love of her life, Glenn Orland Gaines, and spend more than 70 years with Glenn, before he went home to be with Jesus in 2021. Gertie dearly loved her family. She was a long-standing member of First Baptist Church of Keller and enjoyed an amazing career as a realtor. She loved to read and sew in her spare time, and she especially loved to travel and spend time with her family. Her family is at peace knowing that she is in the arms of her Lord and Savior and that she has been reunited with her husband Glenn. Of those left to grieve her loss, she also leaves behind her longtime beloved dachshund, Bo.
Gertie is survived by daughter, Pam Froehner and husband Bill of Irving, Texas; son, Rick Gaines and wife Laurie of Irving, Texas; grandchildren, Corey Davis, Kevin Davis, Michael Gaines, Taylor Gaines, Cassie Romano, William Froehner; 8 great grandchildren, Evelyn, Caden, Taylor, Brianna, Sophie, Garrett, Greyson and Max, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Glenn Gaines.
A graveside service will be held Monday, July 18, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, 1413 E. Irving Blvd, Irving, Texas 75060, with Pastor Keith Sanders officiating.
A special thank you to the angels at VIP Living Center that tended to our precious mom until she gained her wings. We are forever grateful for the loving care they gave to her.
