Gertrude Grier, affectionately known as Trudy, passed away October 13, 2025, at the Delmar Center in Delmar, New York. Born on July 19, 1942, she was the beloved daughter of the late James T. Grier Sr. and Milne Marie Grier.

For 25 years, Trudy called the Albany Center home, where she shared her joyful presence with those around her. Prior to her time in Delmar, she worked as a phlebotomist in New York City, a role that showcased her commitment to caring for others. Trudy also lived in Berkeley, California, and Bridgeport, Connecticut, each place adding unique chapters to her life’s story.

Trudy is survived by her loving siblings: Mildred Taylor, James Grier Jr., Donald Grier, Theodore Grier, Carolyn Grier, and Anita Grier. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Grier, and her brother, Ronald Grier.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated team of caregivers at the Albany and Delmar Centers for their compassionate and continual support of Trudy throughout her time there. Special thanks are also given to Kathy, Melissa, and Sara, who provided exceptional care for Trudy outside her residence for many years.

Trudy Grier will be remembered not only for her gentle nature but also for the warmth she brought into the lives of all who knew her.
