Gertrude Webber Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lary Funeral Home - Dover-Foxcroft on Jan. 2, 2026.
Ogunquit and Wells- Gertrude A. Webber, 92, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025, with family at her side. Gertrude was born July 27, 1933, and was raised by her Aunt Emma and Uncle Henry Seavey. She met the love of her life, Edward H. Webber Sr. and they were married on February 10, 1954.

For most of her life she was a stay-at-home mom, raising six children. She did occasionally work as a chambermaid in Ogunquit. Gertrude and Edward raised their family while living on the Berwick Road in Ogunquit. The last 30 years of her life she lived in Lord's Mobile Home Park in Wells.

Gertrude was well known for her 2.5 mile walk each way to the post office in Ogunquit daily. Gertrude took pleasure in growing her flowers and watching the many birds she fed from her feeders. She had a passion for Perkins Cove, the ocean, and Marginal Way. She enjoyed reading Reader's Digest, short stories, and lots of other books, as well as crocheting.

Gertrude is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Edward H. Webber Sr.; five children, Edward H. Webber Jr. and his wife, Donna, Dorothy Dutch and her husband, Dave, Jonathan L. Webber and his fiancée, Peggy, Deborah Cheney and her husband, Warren, and Donna Avery and husband, Mark; thirteen grandchildren, Jeffrey, Crystal, Holly, Jessica, Nicole, Jenifer, Jonathan J., Mark Jr., Warren, Christopher, Peter, Tony, and Casey; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson, Sawyer. She was predeceased by her son, Peter W. Webber and wife, Alicia, and her step-brother, Mark Briley, who she was raised with.

The family wishes to thank Hibbard Nursing Home and Gentiva Hospice for their compassion and excellent care.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
