Our brave and loving, Gia Aaleeya Sanchez, 9, entered into God's kingdom, on October 26, 2024, in Corpus Christi, Texas, surrounded by her family by her side. Her 9 years on this earth were full of energy, love, and enthusiasm. Gia was a 4th grader at Juarez Lincoln Elementary School in Rio Bravo, Texas, where she was a member of the school choir. In her community and sports involvement, Gia Diamond Backs Softball Team, as well as a boxer. As a daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, Gia was our Guardian Angel, our strength, and our joy. Her memory forever will be a blessing to all whose life she touched.
She now sings in the choirs of the angels in heaven, along with her beloved family that has preceded her in death: maternal great-grandmother, San Juanita Castro and maternal great-grandfather, Benito Castro; maternal great-grandfather: Pedro Contreras; paternal great-grandfather Francisco Sanchez, paternal great-grandmother: Elsa Sanchez.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her mother: Karina Alexis (Jose A. Gomez) Contreras and father: Salvador (Jackeline Espinoza)Sanchez Jr.; siblings: Angelo Gianni, Ezequiel Sanchez; maternal grandparents: Gabriel Contreras I Piña and Guadalupe Castro; paternal grandparents: Irma (Santos, III) Segura; aunts and uncles: Gabriel (Cynthia) Contreras Jr., Anthony (Krisen Trujillo) Contreras, Gabriel Salvador Sanchez, Sergio Raymundo (Alondra) Sanchez, Santos Segura IV; maternal great-grandmother: Dominga Contreras I Piña, paternal great-grandparents: Francisco and Lydia Lozano, as well as numerous cousins, other relatives, and many friends she made along her short, but grace-filled life.
The family will gather to celebrate her life on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, from 4 to 9 pm at Hillside Funerals & Cremations, where a Rosary will be offered at 7 pm.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, departing the chapel at 8:15 am to San Luis Rey Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 am.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery.
