Gianna "Giovanna" Sette

Gianna "Giovanna" "Bella" Sette, 95, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 26, 2026, surrounded by her beloved Family.

Born in Barcelona Pozzo di Gotto, Sicily, Italy, Gianna was the beloved daughter of Salvatore Ultimo and Elena (Visco). She carried with her the traditions, faith, and strong family values of her homeland throughout her life.

Gianna worked for many years as a talented seamstress in dress shops in Passaic and Rutherford, where her skill, dedication, and attention to detail were well known. Beyond her work, her true devotion was to her family. She expressed her love through her cooking, filling her home with warmth, laughter, and the comforting aromas of her kitchen. She was the heart of her family - a steady presence who kept everyone connected and together. Later on, her Grandchildren became her great Joy.

A devout Christian, Gianna was a faithful parishioner of Church of Saint Mary, where she found strength and community in her faith.

Gianna will be remembered for her kindness, her unwavering devotion to her loved ones, her strong faith, and the beautiful example she set for generations to come. Her legacy of love and family will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know her.

Gianna is predeceased by her husband Joseph Sette (2019), her siblings Giuseppe & Valentino Ultimo. She is survived by her sons Rev. Raymond J. Sette & Giancarlo J. Sette & wife Danielle, grandchildren, Giada & Giancarlo Jr., siblings, Angela Iocca & Adolfo Ultimo.

Family will receive friends Sunday March 1, 2026 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford. Funeral Monday gathering 9:00am at the FH for a 10:00am Mass of Christian Liturgy at the Church of Saint Mary, Rutherford. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
