Gilbert Manuel Diaz, born on November 14, 1996, in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, passed away suddenly on September 5, 2025, in Cleveland, Ohio. He lived a life filled with promise and spirit, leaving behind a legacy that touched the hearts of many.
Gilbert was a proud veteran of the United States Army, exemplifying the values of service and dedication. His commitment to his country and community showcased his unwavering character and fortitude.
He is survived by his loving family, including his father, Gilberto Diaz, and his mother, Jessica Torres, along with his stepfather, Bebe Torres. He held a special bond with his siblings: his siblings, Giliana Diaz Torres, Gilitza Vargas (married to Luis Vargas), Angel Torres, and Jayden Torres. He was a cherished uncle to Ezekiel Vargas, who undoubtedly will carry forward the memory of his uncle's warmth and laughter.
Gilbert was the grandson of Gilberto Diaz (deceased), Teresa Pacheco (married to Fernando Sanchez), Marisol Bonilla (married to Antonio Rivera), and Luis Burgos (married to Sandra Burgos), forming a family legacy that emphasized strength and togetherness.
Additionally, Gilbert was a beloved nephew to Wilma Diaz, Sandra Diaz, Jessica M. Burgos, Jesmarie Santiago, Anthony Bonilla, Kasandra Burgos, and Lizandra Burgos, who will remember him fondly for his kindness and spirited nature.
Gilbert Manuel Diaz will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, a testament to the impact he made during his time among us.
Family and friends are welcomed Sunday, September 14, 2025, from 1:00 - 6:00 PM at Slone & Co. Life Celebration Center, 3556 W. 130t Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44111. Interment San Juan, Puerto Rico.
