Gilbert "Gibby" Nelson Faford, age 78, of Flat Rock, Michigan passed away on Monday, August 11, 2025 at Corewell Hospital in Trenton, Michigan.

Born on April 24, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of Nelson and Vivian (Foreman) Faford. On August 14, 1965 he married Diane Dillon in Flat Rock, Michigan.

He was employed with DT&I as an Engineer for 35+ years until retiring in 2007.

Gibby loved being a husband, father, grandfather, and especially a great grandfather. He had a love for birds but more than that, a love for motorcycles.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Diane Ellen Faford, and daughter, Cindy Lee Beard.

He is survived by his children, Tammy (Richard) Kaune, Kim Fisher, Gibby (Grace) Faford, II, son-in-law, Gary Beard, grandchildren, Sam (Cassie) Oliver, Jeremy (Christa) Oliver, Willie (Jeanette) Nino, Samantha (Tom) Buvia, Christine (Nick) Evans, Andrew Faford, Haley Faford, James Queen, Lee Queen, great-grandchildren, Brenden Nino, Alexis Nino, Easton Buvia, Carson Buvia, Owen Evans, Liam Evans, Skye Queen, Lee Queen, Ellie Queen, Emmitt Oliver, Charlotte Oliver, Sophia Oliver, sisters, Kay Murray, Willetta Austin.

Private burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, South Rockwood, Michigan.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of his daughter Cindy, as well as Gibby, being a cancer survivor himself.
