Mr. Gilbert Thomas Gregory, 77, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2024. He was born March 11, 1947 in Iredell County to the late Thomas Odell Gregory and Elva Templeton Gregory. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Anderson Gregory; brothers, Bobby Gregory, James Gregory; a great-grandson, Levi Williams. Mr. Gregory is a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Vietnam, earning 2 Purple Heart medals. He enjoyed fishing, working on his old truck, and he was quick witted with a great sense of humor. Mr. Gregory was a member of Marler Road Baptist Church. He is survived by his daughters, Krisi (Jamey) Combs, Tammy Gregory; grandchildren, Lauran Combs, Logan (Ashlyn) Combs; great-grandchildren, Abigail Huffman, Elizabeth Huffman, Natalie Huffman; sisters, Robin (Allen) Lankford, Annette Spencer, Faye Kerley. The family will receive friends, Thursday, June 6, 2024 from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM at Marler Road Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM with Rev. Randy Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Full Military Honors by Yadkin VFW Post #10346. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Marler Road Baptist Church. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville is serving the Gregory family.
