Gilbert "Gib" L. Maines, 90, of Decatur, passed away January 13, 2026.
Per his wishes, cremation rites will be observed with private family services at a later date.
Born March 31, 1935, to Arthur Lee and Mary "Birdella" Gilbert, Gib married Shirley Amon in 1954 until her passing in 1977. He later married Carol Voorhees, and Virginia "Gini" Casey-Maines in 1993.
He is survived by four children-Rexlyn (Jay) Nicole, Mary Frances "Murphy" (Rodney) Vorndam, James Thomas (Sue) Maines, and Heather (David) Raver-along with 12 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and many stepfamily members. He was preceded in death by his parents, three wives, and one grandson.
