Gilbert Marquez
1961-2024
Born July 15,1961, Gilbert passed away at the age of 63 on December 18, 2024.
Gilbert was born in Los Angeles, California, the youngest of six children to Eduardo and Maria Adelaida Marquez. He attended school in Baldwin Park, California. At age 18, he joined the U.S. Army Airborne and was stationed in North Carolina for boot camp and completed jungle training in Panama. Shortly after he returned, he was hired at the Garvey School District in Rosemead and continued his tenure until he retired in 2024 after 35 years. He was married and had two children, Sam and Isaac Marquez. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, shooting and hiking. He rode a Harley for a couple of years until he chose to focus on growing spiritually and raising his boys as a single father. He is survived by his two boys, his siblings, Cecilia, Maria, Edward, Martha and Gloria. Viewing and celebration of life will be held at Preston & Simon Mortuary, Riverside, CA, on December 27, 2024. Service and Interment at Riverside National Cemetery immediately following.
