Gilbert Marsh Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Meadors Funeral Home - Republic Chapel on Mar. 20, 2025.
Gilbert Martin Marsh Sr., 72 of Republic passed away March 18th, 2025 in his home. Gilbert was born July, 15th 1953 in Kansas City, Missouri.
Gilbert graduated from Everton High School in 1973.
Gilbert married Katherine Michelle (Long) on August,12th 1977. Together they were blessed with 4 children, 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Gilbert truly was a good 'ol country boy at heart, and it showed in everything he did. Gilbert enjoyed working with horses and sharing his knowledge with the younger generations.
In fact, on the back of a horse's how he met his true love Kathy. His love for animals carried over into his everyday life. You never saw him without his beloved dogs Maggie May and Meadow by his side. He could always be found outside, whether it was on the banks of a river with a pole in hand going after the next big catch, or in the woods in search of a big buck.
Gilbert's favorite times were spent playing with the grand babies, and spending time with family and friends, especially if there was a good meal involved!
Gilbert's death was very unexpected and he will dearly be missed by many.
Gilbert is preceded in death by his wife Kathy, parents Putman and Agnes (Allen) Marsh, brothers Teddy and Tommy Marsh and grandson Alexander Cole Miles.
He is survived by his children Kimberly (Robert) Green, Alice (Anthony) Hamilton, Gregory (Jamie) Marsh and Marty (Josie) Marsh; 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A brother David (Randi) Marsh and sisters Christine Brooher and Nadine Freeman. Cousin Leroy ( Nancie) Marsh. Numerous nieces, nephews along with several bonus kids and grandkids.
