Gilbert L Montoya was call home on Sunday, November 3, 2024. He passed away still saying he was fine, quick and unexpected was his departure; he barely paused to take his leave before he was gone. He was born on August 6, 1945 to Alex Montoya and Virginia Duran. For 79 years was the earth gifted his company.
He is preceded in death by a few sisters and brother as well as his parents – Alex & Virginia, all of who were happily awaiting him, we're sure.
Son, brother, uncle, soldier, husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He will be sorely missed by all those he leaves behind: His son Shawn, his grandson Shawn small, and their family; Also by his daughter Yvonne and her children Michael, Lucas, Gabrielle, Talia, and Francesca "Midge". He is also survived by his brothers Charlie and Robert Montoya
Services for Gilbert will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 beginning with a Rosary at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian burial both to be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, NM. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery with full military honors.
