Gilbert Price

 

Mr. Gilbert Price, age 86, of Four Oaks, NC, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC, surrounded by his loving family.  Funeral Services will be 11:00AM-Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Four Oaks, NC.  Burial will follow in Hannah Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Four Oaks, NC with Masonic Honors.  Rev. John Norman will officiate.

Mr. Price was born on October 25, 1936 in Johnston County, NC to the late Samuel Tilden and Johnnie Allen Price.  He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Johnny “Buddy” Stewart, Eloise Thomas, Mary Stewart, Elizabeth “Lib” Weaver, and Samuel Price. Mr. Price was a retired telephone equipment installer with Carolina Telephone/Sprint. He was a member of the Smithfield Masonic Fellowship Lodge #84. 

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Laura “Beth” Stewart Price, son, Anthony Price and wife Holly of Four Oaks, NC; daughter, Julia Elizabeth “Liz” Price and husband, Robert Wittpenn of Alexandra, VA; grandchildren, Genevieve Price Wittpenn, Elijah Gilbert Price, and Lannah Annette Price; brother, Tom Price and wife Janice of Four Oaks, NC; many nieces and nephews.  

The family would like to express heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Stan Watson, the staff at Horizon Family Medicine in Four Oaks, and pharmacists Carl Edwards and Heather McLamb, along with the staff at Realo Pharmacy in Four Oaks, for the excellent care and attention they gave Mr. Price.

The family will receive friends 6:00PM-8:00PM-Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks, NC.

Following the funeral service on Thursday, April 27, 2023 the family will have a reception at the Price Place 8400 US HWY 301 S. Four Oaks, NC 27524.

Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may also be made to the Masonic Home for Children at Oxford.
